Some interesting facts about the people leading the “North Carolina Opportunity Now Summit” in Charlotte NC

‪Friday’s “North Carolina Opportunity Now“ summit in Charlotte  has an interesting group of leaders that we thought you may enjoying learning more about a few of their backgrounds.

Scott Turner is a former NFL Cornerback and the current White House, Executive Director of the Opportunity & Revitalization Council. Turner is schedule to deliver Friday’s opening remarks at the North Carolina Opportunity Summit. Turner is a Former NFL CB, motivational speaker and entrepreneur who joined the White House in 2019. 

• Scott’s NFL history includes the Washington Redskins 1995–1997,  the San Diego Chargers 1998-200, and the Denver Broncos 2003.

Turner now works through the White House to bridge and spur revitalization in distressed communities, along with HUD Secretary Ben Carson.

The Summit will also include additional remarks by Administrator Jovita Carranza, newly confirmed in January 2020 by the Senate to U.S. Small Business Administration.


• At 70 years old Jovita Carranza is the highest ranking “Latina” in the Trump Administration.

Jovita a Native of Chicago Illinois , was confirmed last month by the Senate, she stated that a few of her goals is helping advance female entrepreneurs, the underserved and Veterans.  Her prior experience includes the 44th Treasurer of the United States, a position Jovita held from June 19, 2017 until January 15, 2020.
