The Honolulu’s Rail project could be called “Hawaii’s Debtor’s Pulpit”, while being worshiped by Mayor Caldwell, Hart, the contractors and the Honolulu City Council as the “Cash Cow”, citing to be the end all of end all’s to Honolulu’s traffic problems. In reality it should stand as a monument and living testimony to everything that can go wrong with a corrupt city government out of control with spending, a lack of transparency and no accountability to the citizens of Hawaii and the Federal Government.

The fact is that the Mayor’s Cash Cow is full of corrupt fiscal spending and visible cracks. Demonstrated by the obvious cracks in the cement pylons we saw, that can be clearly seen by any passerby walking or driving past the over budgeted rushed project.

And to make matters worse for Hawaii’s taxpayers to get back control of this out of control train, HART is full of secrecy about real costs, the amount being paid to contractors and sub-contractors, the expenditures, compiled with over runs in budgets and HART’s unwillingness to be transparent to the public, the Honolulu Rail Project has all the undertakings of a train ride just waiting to crash. One example is the Mayors loose allowance of City monies appropriated for the Handi Van and Bus, which was taken away and used as collateral to lie and misinform the Federal Government on the actual collateral the City of Honolulu had on hand to secure Federal funds. The City has since acknowledge their deceit and misuse of the funds as collateral but have yet to disclose and give a date when the funds will be returned to the BUS Budget.

Obvious cracks and defects not only in Honolulu Rails construction, but in the overall HART project. With the amount of the money being spent skyrocketing, and not being vetted out to the public to disclose RAIL's actual cost, its is a train wreck on a high speed collision course without a driver. It is not to late to stop the rail, we suggest you take action and call the Mayor and City Council Members to voice your concerns and ask that the Rail be stopped. The Rail has already adversely effected our City and State Budget, and our land. And the loss of what we have already spent and been impacted by greatly out ways the cost that more spending will take on our State and have on not only us, but our future generations of Hawaii Taxpayers and citizens.

We watched and photographed the aftermath and desecration of the Aina in Waipahu alone, as the amount of trees alone that were cut down, destroyed and removed behind Waipahu High School and the Leeward College Area back to the Bike path occurred. The hundred of trees and plants were uprooted and replaced by some hurriedly constructed buildings for the Rail, this area was also a natural habitat for many of Hawaii’s Birds and other species that can never be restored.

Our Honolulu City Council and Law Makers originally claimed they would not stand for the removal of agricultural lands and the construction of an unsightly Cement Rail blocking the horizon an creating an eyesore for locals and tourist alike on the Ewa Plains. Stay tuned as we will be posting more photo of the Trees that were uprooted, dug up, cut apart and removed, along with the destruction of the Habitat for the Birds and other species.
