As long as we as global citizens do nothing about inequalities, conflict, destruction and war we will not have a Culture of Peace. One injustice for one person it is an injustice for all people.

The day long event is an opportunity for UN member states, UN system entities, and civil society, all of whom are interested in the ways and means to promote the Culture of Peace.

A special focus will be on the implementation of the UN Programme of Action on the Culture of Peace, adopted, unanimously, by the UN General Assembly on 13 September 1999, 14 years ago.
