Hawaii has some of the best weather for Bicycling not only for enjoyment but more importantly to commute, but is it safe and what are we doing as a community to understand the responsibility of everyone to make sure we are sharing the roads equally and safety with Bike riders.

In 2012 we had talked to a group of bike riders on our TV Show “Pathways to Paradise” joining Tina Quizon in the discussion on Bike Safety, Jorgie Patino from the Bike Shop , Brian Erickson & Christian Yee who are inspired to share with others the importance of making Hawaii a more friendly & safe bicycling community & state.

Do we do enough as motorist watching out for bike riders and keeping bikers safe? And as community leaders to educate and as individuals to understand the responsibility of everyone to make sure we are sharing the roads equally and safely??

Do we do enough to make it safer for bicyclist on the Hawaiian Islands??

Do we do enough to make it safer for bicyclist on the Hawaiian Islands??

Jorgie, Brian and Christian share their continued efforts to make the roads safer for bike riders, after the fatality of fellow rider Zachary Manago in Dec of 2010 in a hit & run accident. Many say “no we are not doing enough to allow our bikers to ride safely”. And the need for motorist to demonstrate courtesy, and by watching out for bike riders and allowing for safe distance and passage. Now every year the memorial ride for Zachary continues in July here on Oahu with the hopes to educate others of the rights of bike riders to share our roads. Lets be more Akamai and share our roads and commute safely.
