Rainbow Waste Truck hits Concrete divider Photo by Carroll Cox

Traffic was snarled in both directions of the H1 freeway for hours this afternoon Wednesday Oct. 31st from a truck that hit the concrete divider sending it over the wall and wedging it between the concrete divider and the zipper lane, which halted motorist in both directions as fireman, police and city and state crews continued to work to free the large truck owned by Rainbow Waste Services. Using a large crane the RWS truck was removed after many hours of strategics of how not to risk any additional dangers or hazards, crews placed the damaged truck on a tractor trailer with a long flatbed . As the accident caused severe traffic congestion many parents and children waited patiently in there vehicles with smiles on their faces and saying trick or treat. The crews are at this moment finishing up on the scene repairing the concrete wall and the zipper lane. Fortunately for everyone commuting in the opposite lane in the H1 westbound side, the zipper lane created a barrier, preventing the truck from moving onto and from piling head on into the oncoming traffic on the opposite direction. Reports say the driver is in serious condition.
